The Shape of a Girl comes to the Dennos on Nov. 22

The Dennos Museum Center will present The Shape of a Girl on Friday, November 22, at 9:30am and 11:30am as part of its educational performance series. Tickets for K-12 students and teachers are $5 per person until November 8, and then $6 per person until the date of the performance. Sunday with a Ranger program rescheduled by Dennos Museum for Nov. 17

Sunday with a Ranger has been rescheduled for November 17. The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College presents several family programs in conjunction with the 2013-2014 exhibition season. Family programs are held throughout the year to offer family-friendly educational opportunities in Traverse City. All programs are open to visitors with paid museum admission. (more…)

NMC’s Red Flag incident reporting form was recently updated and the form’s appearance has changed. The form can still be accessed via NMC’s Campus Safety & Security page at nmc.edu/security . Use the form to report any suspicious, dangerous, illegal or threatening incidents involving NMC students or NMC facilities and campuses. Street Drum Corps take over Dennos on Nov. 14, FREE for students

The punk percussion group Street Drum Corps will perform at the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Milliken Auditorium. Tickets are $25 in advance, $28 at the door, $22 for Museum Members plus fees. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Museum Box office at 231-995-1553 or on line at www.dennosmuseum.org. Remembering David Vermetten

It is with sad hearts that we report the passing of David M. Vermetten, age 82 on Oct. 25, 2013. David taught English here at NMC from 1962-1996, and was Faculty Emeritus. He contributed many dedicated years to us and we are grateful for his impact on NMC. (more…)

Showing appreciation for our veterans, NMC Veteran’s Day Tribute is Nov. 11

NMC veterans are invited to take part in the Veteran’s Day Tribute with a breakfast at the Northwoods Cafeteria in West Hall followed by the Walk of Honor to a flag raising ceremony (all NMC campus community members are invited to line the path of the walk to show thanks and honor for the veterans walking), and ends with a reception at West Hall. Board of Trustees meeting recap – October 28, 2013

The Northwestern Michigan College Board of Trustees met in regular session Monday, October 28. Here is an informal account of that meeting.
