Ben Minor joined the NMC staff as Maritime Engineering Instructor on February 5, 2014. He can be reached at 995-1301 or bminor@nmc.edu.
Ben grew up in Newport, Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in Sociology. After graduating from the U of O he lived in Park City UT for eight years where he was a self proclaimed “ski bum” and ski lift technician. In 2003 Ben moved to Traverse City to attend the Great Lakes Maritime Academy. Since graduating in 2006, he has been sailing on a variety of ocean going ships. This last January Ben earned his Chief Engineers License.
His wife Genevieve is the Media Specialist (librarian) at West Senior High, and they have two children: Charlie 6, and Matthew 4. Ben says they are all very excited for him to be home more with his new position.
