Kudos to the following people and departments!

Kudos to Lisa Wilmeth! NMC had a key opportunity to award an ASA degree to a former student who transferred back credits from his bachelor’s and master’s degree programs. In less than a week we received the student’s official transcript, it was evaluated, and Lisa prepared the student’s degree to be presented at a Traverse City Sunrise Rotary meeting today. Lisa has no shortage of “priority” to-do list items but she took the time to make this degree award presentation possible resulting in an incredibly happy NMC alumni, and his mother, who was able to attend the informal ceremony at the Rotary meeting. Special thanks, too, to our President, Tim Nelson, who made time in his busy schedule to confer the degree to the student. This was a perfect example of the dedication to our students that we see every day at NMC. Go Hawk Owls!

Kudos to everyone who helped to make the 60th annual NMC Barbecue a success! Because of our volunteers, community partners and especially because of the amazing efforts by staff and faculty here at NMC, the BBQ went off without a hitch! We helped to serve 7,654 delicious BBQ meals and also gave the community a chance to see classroom and department displays, explore the Dennos Museum, enjoy lots of family fun, and more!
