Kudos to Paul Kolak. Thanks to Paul Kolak for organizing the Mobile Food Pantry here at NMC through Feeding America. Paul organizes volunteers and the food delivery on-site. Many families have been served thanks to his leadership and the volunteers who help distribute the food each month.
Kudos to Brittany Hanbury, Hollie DeWalt, Carly McCall, Esther Nance, Lil Anderson, Sarah Montgomery-Richards, Lynne Moritz, and Todd Haines. The whole holiday party planning committee did a wonderful job putting on a fabulous party. Everyone on the committee brought a level of passion for creating a fun and inclusive event for the college to enjoy. Several additions aimed at increasing inclusion and belongingness such as gingerbread team building, and the get-to-know-you bingo game leading. With attendance increasing by 25% this year, it’s clear that their hard work paid off.
Kudos to Lil Anderson and Lindsey Bradeen. Lil and Lindsey were instrumental in the success of our Holiday Party. I had checked the wrong box and we almost didn’t have a projector and laptop for the party. They quickly and gracefully resolved the issue while also executing the rest of their event duties wonderfully. Thank you to them and the full Hagerty team for their fabulous event planning and event execution work.
Kudos to Employees at the Hagerty Center. The Hagerty Center employees always do a great job putting on events and the Holiday Party was no exception. The food was delicious, tables were cleared, the bar service was prompt, and overall they did a fabulous job. Thanks for always making our events great.

Kudos to Brandon Everest for his Introduction to Sociology student presentations around homelessness and food insecurity. The students were very engaged, problem-solved solutions and provided much needed service and volunteer hours to local nonprofits. This is a great example of experiential learning and providing NMC students with real-world situations and issues to discuss.
Kudos to Kristy McDonald and her BUS 231 Professional Communications class for their wonderful presentations around the Thanks For Giving project this semester. It is amazing that college students provided meals for over 125 families along with donating $2K to the NMC Food Pantry. Their final presentations showed how much each student grew throughout their experiential learning journey in her class. Keep up the great work!

Kudos to Amy Burns-Bailey. Shout out to Amy Burns-Bailey for planning wonderful events around National Apprenticeship Week (Nov 13-19). The NMC Apprentice of the Year event, President Nissley’s Proclamation, apprenticeship shirts, and various treats for students throughout the week to celebrate all their accomplishments!
Kudos to Tracy Welch. Thank you to Tracy Welch for supporting the Technical Division’s National Apprenticeship Week events. She did all of the prep-work to make sure we were all set to have a successful week celebrating the NMC apprentices. Through her role in the ELI she plays an integral part in supporting the Manufacturing Apprenticeship Certificate Program. Our students, faculty, and staff appreciate her hard work and dedication to the apprenticeship population.

A big thank you to everyone whose combined efforts made the latest Long Night Against Procrastination a success! It’s always takes a village and this year was no exception, from providing writing and research help and success coaching to running the sign-in/raffle table, relaxation room, and LNAP’s first-ever knitting and crocheting corner, to all of the setup and cleanup work that goes into an event like this. Kudos to all the folks listed above for their generosity of time and good spirits in helping students bring the semester to a strong finish!
Kudos to Cathy Warner. Thank you to Cathy Warner for inviting faculty and staff members to her English 111 student presentations. Her students were well prepared to discuss their campus issues and possible solutions.

Kudos to Todd Haines! A huge thank you to Todd and Maintenance Services for helping Enrollment Services move furniture/offices around. We know this was a large undertaking and appreciate all of the help! Thank you for adapting to all of our needs throughout the change. You made the whole experience go over very smoothly.
Kudos to Todd Haines, Bob Bugai, Jerry Moeggenberg, Terri Scarlett, Nancy Durecki and Wendy Roberts for spending hours and days completing the office move in Enrollment Services. They were all willing to work quickly and complete the project, without understanding how much it really entailed. Thank you for your patience and hard work to create the spaces we envisioned!

Kudos to Laura Matchett and Elizabeth Sonnabend for developing a training program and becoming a workforce development partner with Sara Lee.
Kudos to John Walker for navigating through numerous hurdles to obtain credentials for the Aero Park Testing Center to reopen. Once he gained administrator and proctor privileges for testing vendors, he turned his attention to the proctor staff and guided them through the certification process as well. His contributions to the Testing Center the past few months have benefited the staff and students at NMC in many ways. Thank you, John!

Kudos to Rob Rider, Beth Norconk, Chris Little, Justin Guillard, Dan Wasson, and Steve Dix. Many thanks to Rob, Beth, Chris, Justin, Dan and Steve for swarming the Parsons-Stulen labs and helping with the removal and replacement of 73 computer hard drives. We were able to replace the drives, load software on these machines and have them functional within five hours; a task which would have taken me a week working solo.
Kudos to Amy Burns-Bailey. Thank you to Amy Burns-Bailey for setting up the Lunch & Learn with Ken Scott (Transformation Coaching) on the topic “Creating Memories of Your Future”. NMC students, staff and retirees attended the interactive presentation and Ken was very engaging and thought provoking. Hopefully Amy will bring him back this spring to present again!
Kudos to Ryan Deering and Tony Sauerbrey. During College for Kids this past summer, we had an instructor running late due to a flat tire. Tony Sauerbrey and Ryan Deering came to the rescue! Thanks Tony and Ryan for saving the day and running the topographic sandbox in Parsons Stulens so that the College for Kids, “Building Virtual Worlds” students could see augmented reality in action!
Kudos to Lisa Baldyga and Amy Burns-Bailey. Thank you to Lisa Baldyga, Employment Readiness Coordinator, and Amy Burns-Bailey, Experiential Learning Coordinator, for offering “Coffee & Career Chats” each month. This gives our students an informal way to ask questions about resumes, career ideas, internships and more!
