Scott is a native of Dansville, Michigan. He served nine years on nuclear submarines upon enlisting in the U.S. Navy and after earning his commission as a U.S. Navy Officer he served the remainder of his 27 year Navy career on various ships around the world as a Surface Warfare Officer. His second to last tour of duty brought him to Traverse City as the Naval Science Instructor at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy. He retired from active duty in 2013 following an 11 month deployment to Bahrain. Scott (BA, U of M) and his wife Mary (BS, Illinois State; MSW U of M; ADN, NMC), an RN, live on Old Mission Peninsula with their three children, ages 15, 13 and 9. (more…)

Lindsey Kimball joined NMC as a Custodian – 2nd Shift on February 1, 2016. She can be reached at (231) 995-1935 or kimball@mail.nmc.edu.
Lindsey is 37 years old, and has two daughters ages 6 and 12. She and her husband of 16 years live in South Boardman, South-East of Traverse city on a small farm. They raise most of their own food on their farm which includes sheep, chicken, pigs, and ducks. They love to garden, and can or freeze most of what they grow. Lindsey owned her own residential cleaning business before she came to NMC. The economy for some people along with many clients becoming elderly made her decide it was time for something a bit more stable. She also attends NMC part time pursuing a degree in Environmental Science. Lindsey looks forward to meeting new people here at NMC! (more…)

Angie was born in Grand Haven, MI and completed high school in Harbor Springs, MI. After high school she attended Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Communications. Following graduate school she lived in Seattle, Washington for eight years, gaining experience in data management/analysis while working at a local social service non-profit; YWCA of Seattle. She relocated to Traverse City in May 2015 to be closer to her boyfriend. She enjoys yoga, hiking, craft projects, reading and spending time with her family. (more…)

Katharine hails from Grosse Pointe, Michigan and earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Women’s Studies and a master’s degree in Social Work, both from the University of Michigan. Prior to earning her master’s degree, Katharine worked in the nonprofit sector in both direct service and administrative roles, including work at a Detroit area domestic violence shelter as well as at the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency in Traverse City. Katharine enjoys reading, knitting, hiking, snowshoeing, and strolling through farmer’s markets. (more…)
