If you are enrolled in NMC’s high deductible medical insurance, you should expect your second HSA deposit on July 2, 2021.
If you are interested in having pretax deductions withheld from your paycheck, please review this information. Contact Hollie DeWalt, hdewalt@nmc.edu in HR for more information.
If you are enrolled in the NMC Priority Health coverage these added programs may benefit you and your families!
If you were an employee enrolled in the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan plan through NMC between 2015 – 2019, you likely received a postcard in the mail from BCBS. If you plan to submit a claim please use the instructions below to obtain your Enrollee ID Number. NMC Group ID is 007040422.
Call the BCBS Customer Service Number – 877-671-2583. When you get to the phone triage, respond that you are “Already a Member” and when they ask for the Enrollee ID, respond that “you don’t have it”.
Once you get to a Customer Service Rep, you may be asked for some other information such as birth date or address just to confirm your identification. Let them know that you need to know your member ID from when you were enrolled with them. We used BCBS medical from 2015-2019.

Kudos to Nicole Fewins: Nicole is such a great example of a supportive mentor and colleague. As an adjunct instructor, I can always count on her to answer questions in a timely manner, help with course design and give good feedback, and share resources to help me grow. She does this all with a smile on her face and you never feel as if you are imposing. She is a real resource and a valued part of NMC.
Kudos to the Grounds Dept. and Volunteers: Kudos to the Grounds staff for pre-digging the holes for planting the trees. In partnership with ReLeaf Michigan and the DTE Foundation, kudos to all the volunteers who planted the 15 trees near North and East Halls.
Kudos to the Math Department: Kudos to the Mathematics Department for their swift creation of the new developmental mathematics courses and corequisite courses. It is a great new direction for our students.
Kudos to Cindy Deemer and All involved in Commencement: Kudos to all those involved in organizing and assisting in our 2021 Commencement ceremony. It was wonderful to see the students on the stage.

Kudos to Dr. Marcus Bennett: Dr. Bennett is always positive, always thoughtful, always holds the line for student integrity issues, and always supports faculty members. Marcus values all students, even those that were caught lying. He brings dignity and respect to all the people he interacts with. He understands that people make mistakes and those mistakes don’t define a person. I can tell that in Dr. Bennett’s view, every person has value.

Kudos to Tamara Coleman: Thank you Dr. Tamara Chase Coleman for teaching this much needed Extended Educational Services class: The Science of Stress — considering the year we’ve experienced, we ALL need a coach like Dr. Coleman! The blending of scientific data with personal action research experiences proved to be highly successful. This class wrapped up tonight with presentations covering stress, sleep, yoga, meditation, and more — all backed by scientific journal articles and research. EES looks forward to helping more people mitigate stress and begin to enjoy life more fully with these great classes led by Dr. Coleman.
Kudos to Brie Mills: Brie has earned her Experiential Learning 101 Badge by completing EL 101 Online. Her work in the course was thoughtful and innovative. Her capstone work in her statistics course is exciting, effective, and promotes full EL cycle learning!
