Docent training at the Dennos Museum Center
The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College invites new docent volunteers interested in working with K-12, college, and adult tour groups. Docents help fulfill the mission of the Dennos Museum Center by contacting teachers to discuss learning goals, preparing and presenting tours in a team, teaching art projects to students, and evaluating the success of various educational activities.
The Muster Project is a fun way for new students to become acclimated with NMC and the college experience
Through The Muster Project, new students go sailing, get connected with a mentor, and participate in social activities throughout the school year. As a result, students have more fun, get connected, and typically do better academically.
Bookstore offering new book price comparison program called VERBA beginning August 5
The bookstore will be offering a new program called VERBA which gives you the opportunity to compare prices on books starting August 5, 2013.

Student helps WWII veteran’s daughter learn about her father, donations sought for trip to her father’s military troop reunion
Nikoline Sanderson, a student from Northwestern Michigan College, is helping a WWII veteran’s daughter finally get answers to her life long questions about her father.
NMC Open Rec basketball continues through summer
NMC Open Recreation basketball will continue through the summer. Open recreation is free for enrolled students and NMC faculty and staff.

Dennos Museum announces ‘Birds of Paradise: Amazing Avian Evolution’ a major exhibition for Summer 2013 from the National Geographic Society
Starting June 16, 2013, take a journey to New Guinea and the exotic world of birds-of-paradise with “Birds of Paradise: Amazing Avian Evolution,” a National Geographic Traveling Exhibition coming to the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College that reveals all 39 species of these elusive birds for the first time.

Summer Programming at the Dennos Museum Center, June-September 2013
The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College will present a range of public programs in conjunction with the National Geographic exhibition, Birds of Paradise: Amazing Avian Evolution. All programs are free with museum admission ($10 adults, $5 children and museum members).
