Big Brothers Big Sisters is seeking responsible, reliable, positive-minded NMC students to volunteer as Big Brothers or Big Sisters in the local school-based mentoring programs. Guys: you’re ESPECIALLY needed, as the boys on our wait lists for a mentor are ever-increasing.
Big Brothers Big Sisters has programs conveniently located at Traverse Heights Elementary, Central Grade School, Eastern Elementary, Long Lake Elementary and Blair Elementary.
Being a Big is simple, really. Just by spending your lunch hour with a child once each week for at least one school year, you can make a difference. And it’s not all about helping the child study. Play a game, shoot some hoops in the gym or on the playground, do a puzzle, read together, eat lunch and chat – your best gift is your time and simply being yourself.
