Kudos go to Nancy Gray, Deirdre Mahoney, Jan Root, Sara Budzik, Deb Patterson, Jenny Barnes, Cheryl Sullivan, and the Facilities Department staff for successfully hosting the Michigan Center for Student Success’ Reading Apprenticeship Seminar on May 20-22, 2014, here at NMC. By volunteering to host this event, NMC enabled educators from across Michigan to advance their Reading instruction skills in an area that is essential for student success. Another great example of keeping learning at the center!
Kudos to Brian Sweeney for working to get $22,500 in grant funds to support the Engineering Technology photonics courses. The funds will be used for scholarships for 16 Career tech Center students to dual enroll in the photonics course and to purchase a laser isolation table. The grant funds were then leveraged to receive an additional $20,000 laser donation.
Kudos to Gwendolyn Thurson and Anndrea Terry for handling an urgent hiring request efficiently and effectively.
