NMC Professional Communications students and TAHRA are launching Career Kickstart, a campaign to provide the Grand Traverse community with free career assistance and professional attire.

Set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 11 in the Welcome Center on NMC’s main campus, Career Kickstart is aimed at residents who are seeking to make themselves more employable with free, professional clothing and career assistance, including:

The students benefit by gaining communications experience through this service-learning project, and are conducting the clothing collection drive from March 6-27. Anyone wishing to donate can drop off clean, gently used, professional clothing and accessories at these NMC locations:

  • Beckett Building – Main Campus
  • Osterlin Building – Main Campus
  • Parsons-Stulen Building – Aero Park Campus

A free clothing pick-up service is also available. Local businesses may also participate by placing collection bins inside their buildings. To schedule a pick-up or have a bin delivered, call Will Bennett at (269) 967-5315.
