As we balance the literacy needs of our students with technology integration efforts and the demands of the Common Core, we can sometimes lose sight of the bigger picture. During this two-day seminar, refocus your attention on student learning with Troy Hicks, CMU professor and Director of the Chippewa River Writing Project.
Bring your iPad*, Galaxy, or Kindle Fire and participate in digital writing experiences that will explore creativity, culture, and even contemporary Chinese photography. Discover useful apps and websites for close and critical reading as well as digital writing. Develop your own lessons that can be supported by the Dennos Museum Center’s collections. Compose a digital story about one of the museum’s exhibits for use in your classroom.
For information on registering for graduate credit through Central Michigan University, contact Troy Hicks at troy.hicks@cmich.edu by June 13, 2014.
