Tickets are now on sale for the third annual local production of “The Vagina Monologues,” to be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 in Milliken Auditorium.
The award-winning play, sponsored by NMC Student Life as well as Third Level Crisis Center, is based on V-Day Founder/playwright Eve Ensler’s interviews with more than 200 women. With humor and grace the piece celebrates women’s sexuality and strength. Tickets are $15 for the general public and $5 for students and seniors. Tickets are available at the Dennos Museum Center front desk, Brew in downtown Traverse City, and online at www.nmc.edu/vday.
A percentage of the proceeds will benefit Traverse City’s Women’s Resource Center, which works to end domestic and sexual violence in the Grand Traverse area. Over 38 years the agency has grown from a handful of committed volunteers to a staff of 45 professionals covering five counties, three satellite offices, a 24-hour emergency shelter, three transition homes and a retail thrift shop.
