Kudos to the following individuals!

Jim Gray has made my transition at NMC very easy. He helps me out whenever I need anything. He even helps me when he is always busy with his own work. I don’t know what I would have done without you Jim, thank you!!!

Ryan Taylor is an excellent student employee, always going above and beyond to get a job done. He has become an invaluable member of the front office team at GLMA – his attitude, willingness to support all members of the academic area – faculty, staff and fellow cadets alike. His professionalism shines through at all times. Fall semester has seen the complete installation of the new Deck simulator and Ryan wrote the operations manual from start up to shut down for this equipment, working closely with the Manager responsible for this area. He has also taken on a joint administrative responsibility for working with those alumni and maritime industry employees who wish to continue their education and re-certify in their respective areas – making sure that they are registered for the correct class and taking the time to make them welcome upon arrival, they have hotel contacts, maps etc. to make their visit (or revisit) to NMC/GLMA positive.

Leland Nelson has always been an enormous asset to the team at the Hagerty Center. He has an energy that is infectious. He is always working at top speed and looking for more work to do. Lee is a model for work ethic and I use his drive as an example for the younger cooks to aspire to. Lee helped carry out some very big events this fall and without him we would have been at a great loss. Lee is a talented cook, but it is his sense of pride and unending commitment to the team that makes him so valuable.

Thank you Susan Odgers, for all the work you have done on behalf of our adjuncts for the Compensation Study Group’s work to review NMC’s total compensation system. You have been key in addressing adjunct concerns, gathering their feedback and presenting their proposals. Well done Susan- you’re an outstanding faculty leader at NMC.

Dan Yeider has always reacted as quickly and swiftly as possible to maintenance issues at the NMC University Center. Recently, he removed and installed classroom blackboards and installed new electrical outlets on short notice to accommodate a new multi-media classroom build for Grand Valley State University’s Physician Assistant program.
