On Tuesday, October 9, the Center for Instructional Excellence and Professional Development Institute will host the third annual NMC Fall Conference. We were so pleased with participation in last year’s conference that we decided to close all college offices and classes so that all regular faculty, adjunct faculty, and regular staff could attend. If for some reason, your office must remain open, please seek prior approval from your Vice President and notify our office of that outcome. If you cannot attend for some reason, please report your absences as you would on any other work day. An appointment has been sent to your Google calendar.

This year, all session developers have agreed to incorporate fundamentals of experiential learning in their delivery. Each session will conclude with an opportunity for reflection about what we learned and how it might apply to future activities.

This year’s NMC Fall Conference theme is “Sharing Experiences, Making a Difference.”  A wide variety of sessions will be available for all NMC faculty and staff to come together to share best practices and ideas, giving everyone an opportunity to collaborate and learn from each other. Thank you in advance to all those who have agreed to present. I look forward to seeing you and to a great conference!

The agenda for the day is as follows:

8-8:25 a.m.: Light breakfast
8:30-9:15 a.m.: Opening session
9:30-11:35 a.m.: Morning breakout sessions
11:40-12:40 p.m.: Lunch
12:45-2:50 p.m.: Afternoon breakout session & wrap-up
2:55-3:30 p.m.: Networking reception (refreshments provided)

Watch for a more detailed agenda with a list of sessions that will allow you to plan your day.

Thanks for all you do to keep learning at the center and to promote the success of our learners.
