Kudos to Sarah Wangler, Tina Ulrich, and Michele Howard– they all presented at the 2017 Michigan Open Educational Resources Summit on Friday, September 22, 2017. The summit was hosted by Kellogg Community College and Michigan Colleges Online. Sarah’s presentation, “OER as a Pedagogical Tactic in Composition Class,” generated many interesting and beneficial questions from Communications faculty and librarians from around the state. Tina and Michele’s co-presentation, “The Quest! Finding OER, Gov Docs, and Web Resources to Create the Textbooks of Your Dreams,” was offered to an enthusiastic standing-room-only audience. All presenters (and attendees) did NMC proud!

Kudos to Kerry Fulcher- she went above and beyond the last couple very busy weeks at the GLCI. Lobdell’s opened its doors for the fall semester, we hosted the first ever Culinary Medical Conference throughout the September 22-24th weekend and then we hosted the 13th annual Lobdell’s Scholarship Dinner. Kerry put in many, many extra hours to ensure everything ran smoothly for all of these events and when given a task, did it all with a smile on her face.

Kudos to the entire HR Department-  We had a special event that we needed to get a large group of students hired for and also had students and supplemental employees who had job changes that needed to be inputted. The whole department stepped up to move the process along at a much faster pace than usual to ensure we had adequate staffing for the event. Thank you, Thank you for all you do.
