Continuing the energy created through October Conference, Growing a Culture of Innovation at NMC, there are new resources available on the Office of Possibilities website. Check out these ideas, suggested by Dr. Andy Gold of the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship, including mural learning, the 11-star customer experience, the 5 Whys, and ways to share your updates directly with NACCE.

    • Mural Learning: a wonderful collaboration tool to work with teams virtually. Tons of design thinking templates and resources.

    • Wonderful video featuring Brian Chesky (Airbnb co-founder) discussing the “11-star experience.” A way to frame the ideal state for design thinking.

    • Primer on the “5 whys” root cause analysis. This may help the NMC teams to think more critically about the problem they are trying to solve. By simply asking “why” five times may unpack an entirely different outlook on the problem and get to the core source that may be contributing to the challenge.
    • NMC stories. One of the central roles that the NACCE membership team provides to its members is to be a national voice that can showcase and profile the amazing work taking place within community colleges. To that end, as I mentioned yesterday, we would welcome the opportunity to showcase NMC. Please share this Google form for anyone that wants to share an interesting development at NMC, so NACCE can broadcast the story through our e-news publication.
