Josh Jacobson and Laura Carmickle have been selected as the NMC Employees of the Semester for fall 2014.  Josh and Laura have displayed the values of Northwestern Michigan College as described below:

Joshua Jacobson – Admissions CRM Recruiter, has been selected as an NMC Employee of the Semester for fall 2014. Josh has displayed the values of Northwestern Michigan College as described below.

Josh’s supervisor and peers have the following to say about his work at NMC:

Since Josh was hired in March of 2014, he has come on board to admissions and has finished the implementation of our new Recruiting CRM system. He has visited with multiple department offices to show them how we can assist them with recruiting and has sent out over 100,000 emails for Admissions, Records and Registration, Advising and various other departments. He holds training for all recruiting staff every week to help staff transition to the new system. He has been able to customize each email with specific content and actions. Josh has done all of this plus has recruited in high schools and college fairs heavily through the fall.

Josh is the type of employee that jumps in and helps with any project or event that is going on in Admissions. He is also co-chair for the State MACARO Enrollment Management Committee.

Josh is a great asset to Admissions and to NMC. As CRM Manager he is enthusiastic about experimenting with new technology and sharing his knowledge with others. He conveys his knowledge in a clear and thoughtful manner. He is always looking for ways to improve processes and has created several automated workflows that improve communication with our constituents and reduce manual labor. As a Recruiter, Josh represents the best of NMC. He’s positive, outgoing, and thorough when attracting prospects to NMC and helping applicants through the admissions process. We are very fortunate to have Josh on the Admissions team

Laura Carmickle – Senior Programmer/Analyst and Solution Architect, has been selected as an NMC Employee of the Semester for fall 2014. Laura has displayed the values of Northwestern Michigan College as described below.

Laura’s peers have the following to say about her work at NMC:

Laura has spent an incredible amount of time and energy implementing a new CRM software system. Though the CRM has sometimes proved to be challenging, Laura has quickly extinguished issues, or requested additional IT support to keep the project moving forward at a rapid pace. Laura is easy going and a joy to work with!

Laura provides exceptional service. She exhibits patience and understanding, even when working on multiple projects. Laura makes the extra effort to ensure that I understanding what I need to know.
