The African Guitar Summit to Perform at the Dennos
The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College will present the Juno Award winning African Guitar Summit on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 8:00 PM in Milliken Auditorium. Tickets are $27 advance, $30 at the door and $24 for museum members plus fees. BATA pick up/drop off sites to change on main campus
Starting November 1 BATA will be changing the pick-up/drop off sites at our main NMC campus. Buses will no longer come onto College Drive.
There will be two BATA stops:
- Front Street by the Tamarack parking lot

It’s Our World: Artists Inspired by Children’s Visions of the Future, opening Nov. 1
As part of The Big Draw – Grand Traverse, the Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College presents the exhibition, It’s Our World: Artists Inspired by Children’s Visions of the Future, November 1, 2014 – January 4, 2015. The exhibition features five local artists–Dewey Blocksma, Nancy Crisp, Nancy Nash, Joyce Petrakovitz, and Glenn Wolff–inspired by a child’s artwork. Each artist chose one or more drawings created by a young visitor during Big Draw Day on October 4, to incorporate and recreate in the medium of their choice. Children ages 4-12 created drawings in response to questions about keeping the Earth clean as part of this year’s Big Draw theme, It’s Our World. The exhibition will feature the artists’ interpretations, the original drawings from the children, and a digital slideshow of drawings and events that took place as part of The Big Draw–Grand Traverse.
