Welcome to NMC Jason!
Jason Slade was born and raised in Waterford, MI. He attended Michigan State University, where he completed his BS / MS in Electrical Engineering and met the only person that could put up with him, his now wife, Stacy. After college, he worked as an electrical engineer in the automotive industry specifically on sensors designed to reduce the likelihood of a rollover accident. However, he knew that he wanted to teach, so when Mott Community College in Flint had an opening he jumped on it. For the past 7 years, Jason has been the Faculty / Coordinator of the Electronics and Electrical Technology Program at Mott. (more…)

Benefits corner- Automobile accidents are not covered under NMC’s medical plans
If you are currently covered by one of NMC’s medical plans, remember that our insurance does not cover accidents involving a motor vehicle. This change took place on 7/1/09, and you may have attended a meeting to explain the change. If you would like to read the communication which was sent out at that time, you can find it at S:\Human Resources\Public.
What does this mean for you? This exclusion means that you need to be sure that your automobile insurance is indicated as primary for injuries due to an auto accident. If you have any questions regarding this or other benefits, feel free to contact HR at 995-1350. (more…)

Join us at the 2014 National Cherry Festival’s Cherry Royal Parade
July 12th NMC will be marching down the parade route in the National Cherry Festival’s Cherry Royale Parade. The presentation will be led by Chip the faux buffalo from the NMC Barbecue. Following Chip will be a new dynamic of our entry: a float!
We will also be paying tribute to our military student population and NMC being recognized as one of the top military friendly colleges in the nation with several military students joining in as part of our entry. We welcome all faculty and staff members who are veterans to walk in the parade as part of the entry. If interested, please contact Scott Herzberg at 995-2526 or sherzberg@nmc.edu.
At the end of the parade we will have the ever popular brat truck which is staffed by the wonderful folks at the Hagerty Center who will hand out brats all the way down the parade route. Would you like to volunteer to help hand out brats from the brat truck? Call Kay Hall 995-1288 or email khall@nmc.edu if you would like to be a part of a great day!
