Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) and Davenport University (DU) have formed a new transfer degree agreement that expands upon the long-time partnership the two institutions share. NMC students who earn an Associate of Science and Arts degree can transfer their credits to DU toward a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting Fraud Investigation. (more…)

Thanks to all who stopped by to catch a bit of “the world’s game” earlier this summer as well as the approximately 35 of you who joined Outreach Services (International Services & Service Learning) for the USA – Germany match on June 26. NMC Parking permits are now available in the Cashiers/Records and Registration office in the Tanis building. All cars parked in NMC lots must have an NMC parking permit affixed to the lower left side of the windshield by September 1, 2014. Please be sure to remove past NMC parking decals. Security personnel will also distribute permits at Opening Conference on August 18. Thank you (more…)

English instructor Dr. Melissa Sprenkle has been working with the Speak Up Traverse City street paper project and is holding weekly writing workshops for local people experiencing homelessness who are interested in contributing to the street paper. The first publication containing stories from local writers has been printed and will be sold this month in downtown Traverse City and surrounding areas.

A group of ten 11, 12 and 13 year old Chinese students from Weiming Education Group are visiting Northwestern Michigan College for a few days, experiencing NMC’s College For Kids classes, dorm life and touring the Traverse City area. The students at NMC are one of six Weiming Groups currently visiting Michigan educational entities. (more…)
The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College invites new docent volunteers interested in working with K-12, college, and adult tour groups. Docents help fulfill the mission of the Dennos Museum Center by preparing and presenting tours in a team, teaching art projects to students, and evaluating the success of various educational activities. In addition, being a docent connects you with a large and welcoming family of like-minded learners that provide support and encouragement. (more…)
