During Pine Palooza last fall, we took a survey and found that a large number of students use their phone or tablet to access Moodle.
The current Moodle theme is not responsive and the design is not set to work with mobile devices. Educational Media Technologies has been working hard to change this.
NMC will have a new responsive theme for Moodle coming soon. Starting this summer courses will have the new responsive theme. The new theme will also come with some improvements that benefit students. (more…)

On Tuesday, March 10 at 6 p.m., the IAF is sponsoring at the State Theatre a free showing of the film, To Light a Candle, by Iranian-Canadian journalist and human rights activist Maziar Bahari. The film is 53 minutes long and will be followed by a panel discussion on Iran (that will include Jack Segal, adjunct instructor of Political Science.) Maziar Bahari was the subject of Jon Stewart’s 2014 film Rosewater that examined political life in Iran today.
To Light a Candle shows how the Baha’i minority in Iran is defying Iran’s brutal systematic religious persecution through non-violent resistance and educating their youth. It gives our community an opportunity to talk about freedom of religion and minority rights in Iran and the Middle East and how we can make our voices heard in support of education and religious tolerance.
