Showing appreciation for our veterans, NMC Veteran’s Day Tribute is Nov. 11
NMC veterans are invited to take part in the Veteran’s Day Tribute with a breakfast at the Northwoods Cafeteria in West Hall followed by the Walk of Honor to a flag raising ceremony (all NMC campus community members are invited to line the path of the walk to show thanks and honor for the veterans walking), and ends with a reception at West Hall. Zonta Festival of Trees veterans and military reception, Nov 8
The Zonta Club of Traverse City and Northwestern Michigan College are sponsoring a special dessert reception for veterans and military members, Friday, November 8 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. during the annual Festival of Trees. at NMC’s Hagerty Conference Center, 715 East Front Street in Traverse City.

NMC instructors and student selected to participate in Dennos exhibit
NMC drawing instructor Glenn Wolff and NMC painting instructor Joan Richmond are two of the artists selected for the exhibit, “The Art of the Sleeping Bear Dunes,” currently at the Dennos Museum Center. In addition, NMC culinary student Lisa Wilkins Schulte’s painting was accepted. The show will be on exhibit through January 5, 2014.
NMC hosts Bikram yoga teacher Jim Kallett Nov. 1
Northwestern Michigan College will host Jim Kallett as he presents the philosophy and approach of Bikram yoga: what it is, how it works, the history, theory, science and benefits. Kallett’s lecture takes place Friday, November 1 from 6 – 9 p.m. in Room 109 of Scholars Hall. The lecture is intended for all levels and interests in Yoga and BikramYoga.
