For the past three years, the CIE and PDI sponsored NMC October Conference has been a wonderful day of collaboration and engagement for all faculty and staff. However, due to the pandemic we are not able to collaborate in the same way… Rather than virtualize the day through many Zoom sessions, we will refocus professional development on a different type of collaboration and growth. This new day empowers employees to co-create development to share ideas and engage collaboratively, igniting passion and energizing employees as we work toward accomplishing something to make an impact on the College, our learners and/or our community that cannot be achieved during the regular workday. Additional FedEx Day Resources:
Honoree’s Name: Melissa Sprenkle
Honoree’s Dept./Division: English
Reason for Kudos: Melissa showcased her passion for teaching excellence at the BOT meeting this week! Her students are not only engaged and learning about English but also important social issues in our community and world. Your presentation was inspiring and NMC is lucky to have such a passionate, creative, and thoughtful faculty member! Thank you for taking the time to share!

The following employees are celebrating an anniversary soon. Please join us in congratulating them! (more…)
Honoree’s Name: Mac Beeker
Honoree’s Dept./Division: Nursing
Reason for Kudos: Mac gave an inspiring presentation to the Board of Trustees at Monday night’s Board of Trustees meeting. It was an awesome story of the long-time relationship between Munson and NMC. In Mac’s own words, “I’d be hard-pressed to offer a better example of a symbiotic relationship between a healthcare system and a community college.” Lots to be proud of…
I have the task of lining up the presentations for the meeting and delivering the intro. materials. We had a change in a scheduled presenter, and I went to Mac and asked him to change to this month’s meeting — with no hesitation he said of course! He was professional, prompt, showed deep commitment, and excellence!
Thank you, Mac, for sharing about our nursing program, your department’s awesome work and for reminding us about all the heroes you/ NMC has trained that are working hard every day to provide quality care to our community and beyond!

Honoree’s Name: Lisa Wilmeth
Honoree’s Dept./Division: Academic Affairs/Central Scheduling
Reason for Kudos: Lisa is currently handling the responsibilities of Curriculum & Scheduling Coordinator position while Hannah Cruz is on maternity leave. Lisa has most recently been tasked with coordinating and updating the Fall 2020 schedule changes due to the COVID-19 staged reopening of NMC.
This is an *enormous* task that requires skill, organization, and patience. Her depth of knowledge in institutional processes, excellent communication skills, and her capacity to learn the new technology necessary to accomplish this task has been *invaluable* during this period of constant change.
She has worked long hours outside the scope of a ‘normal’ work week in order to make these changes for students before the next round of Orientations. The NMC community should know how lucky we are she is here for us right now.

Honoree’s Name: Carly McCall
Honoree’s Dept./Division: Resource Development
Reason for Kudos: Carly created NMC’s first Virtual BBQ! While the team had discussed bits and pieces of a way for stakeholders to connect through a virtual BBQ, it was Carly, with the urging of foundation volunteers who jumped in with a collection of ideas and the will to get it done! She took the lead reaching out to programs, coordinating web development, and the overarching strategy to maintain the opportunity for our community to connect with NMC through the BBQ, during the coronavirus stay at home order.
