NMC will pay tribute to its enrolled and employed veterans with a series of events set for Veterans Day, November 11. Here is a list of the events taking place on Veterans Day.

8:30 -9:30 a.m.: Veterans can enjoy a free breakfast at NMC’s Northwoods Cafe in West Hall

9:30 a.m.: Walk of Honor – Following the breakfast, veterans will proceed from West Hall to the flagpoles west of the Tanis Building, led by the Traverse City Central drum line. NMC students, faculty and staff will flank the sidewalk to honor the veterans.

9:40 a.m.: Flag raising ceremony conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard Color Guard. The Traverse City Central High School band will perform the Star Spangled Banner.

10:30- 12:30 p.m.: Coffee and cake in honor of veterans for entire campus community. West Hall

Records show that veterans comprise nearly five percent of NMC’s student population, with most having served in the recent Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts. All events will occur rain or shine.
