Jason Slade was born and raised in Waterford, MI. He attended Michigan State University, where he completed his BS / MS in Electrical Engineering and met the only person that could put up with him, his now wife, Stacy. After college, he worked as an electrical engineer in the automotive industry specifically on sensors designed to reduce the likelihood of a rollover accident. However, he knew that he wanted to teach, so when Mott Community College in Flint had an opening he jumped on it. For the past 7 years, Jason has been the Faculty / Coordinator of the Electronics and Electrical Technology Program at Mott.
When the opportunity arose to join the Engineering Technology Program here at NMC, Jason jumped at it. He knew it was an exciting, dynamic program with great growth potential. It also included the allure of Northern Michigan. His children, Olivia (age 4) and Carter (age 2) have been loving the beaches in and around TC. He has an emotional golden retriever named Maggie that is having difficulties with the move, however she has enjoyed long walks on the Lake Ann pathway. His interests include hiking, camping, and golf.
