NMC has launched a new scholarship web page and will no longer look at paper applications. It was previously stated, complete a FAFSA and you are eligible for scholarships. This is no longer the case. However, most scholarships are need based awards and would require a FAFSA to be eligible.
To be eligible for scholarships, students must complete a General Application. Students may access the scholarship searchable database at nmc.edu/scholarships. There are hyperlinks throughout the page, and in the blue sidebar. They can also do so at this link. Students also have a link in their self-service, under the financial aidtab, that states apply for NMC scholarships.
Once at this page, it will ask students to sign in using your NMC ID and password. Once signed in, students will need to complete a General Application and will be automatically matched to opportunities they may be eligible for. Any scholarships that require additional action from them (i.e. additional question to answer or essay to write) will be listed on the Recommended page.
They will not be in the running for those scholarships until those questions are answered.
This web page also includes an External tab. This tab lists scholarships not associated with NMC, but are available through different community groups and organizations. Each scholarship directs a student how to apply or who to contact to apply.
