Glenn WolffThe Dennos Museum Center is offering art patron’s an opportunity to purchase original art work by Northern Michigan’s creative artists, in the museum’s 6th annual Small Works art sale from May 15-18, 2014.

All art work is no larger than 5” X 7” and affordable with prices ranging from $5-$50. Artists will bring in work in all 2D media, paintings, prints and photography plus 3D work in media of fiber, wood, ceramics and sculptures. Last year’s sale represented 80 artists who brought in over 800 works of art.

New this year will be a silent auction of mini canvas pins which artists will paint and donate to the museum to raise funds for the Dennos Education Tour Fund. The Silent Auction will be open for bidding Thursday night only during the opening reception from 5-8 pm. Unsold pins will be sold at a set price Friday-Sunday.

The Small Works sale, open to the public, will begin with the sale, reception and silent auction of pins from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 15. The sale will continue Friday, May 16rd and 17th from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Sunday, May 18, (During the NMC BBQ) from 11:00 a.m. – 4:00 pm. There is no admission charge for the Small Works sale.

The Dennos Museum Center is open Monday to Saturday 10 AM to 5 PM, Thursday until 8 PM and Sundays 1-5 PM. Admission is $6.00 adults, $4.00 for children and free to museum members.
