The birth of the Dennos Museum’s Inuit art collection is told here by Phil Power, son of Eugene, who along with the establishment of Eskimo Art Inc., helped facilitate a gift of Inuit art to Bernie Rink (Library Director) at Northwestern Michigan College in 1960. This gift that would grow into one of the largest museum collections of Inuit art in the USA – now at the Dennos. Eugene’s collection is now a part of the Dennos collection, which exceeds 1,500 works.
