Come explore the Life Drive on Wednesday, December 11th from 11am to 6pm in West Hall and find out how you can help save a life!
Organizations present at the Life Drive will include:
- Michigan Blood: Collecting blood and plasma (NMC’s Monthly blood drive)
- Be The Match Registry: Signing-up those wishing to be bone marrow donors
- Gift of Life Michigan: Signing-up organ donors (Just like one does when getting their driver’s license)
- Organ Transplant Support Group of Northern Michigan: Will have members present to answer questions of those interested in being living donors, these members are people who are organ transplant recipients or are in immediate need of an organ transplant (there are two in the Traverse City area)
Those individuals, who are interested in becoming a donor but are not quite sure, can visit the organizations’ tables and receive give-aways, literature, and information from the organizations’ volunteers who will be present to educate them about being a donor.
The Life Drive will welcome Kevin Essebaggers, anchor from 9 & 10 News who will be on site at 11:30am to donate blood and sign-up to be a bone marrow donor.
