The NMC Board of Trustees has approved funding for a campus-wide network project that will improve WiFi access on all of NMC’s campuses. The project is designed to support the evolving methods of teaching and learning and to increase accessibility to learning resources to students, faculty and staff.
The $432,000 project is scheduled for completion in January 2014, and will bring full wireless coverage to all buildings on all campuses. The Cisco Wireless solution that was chosen will allow for shared management responsibilities between TCAPS and NMC and ease of access for students and faculty that travel between both organizations. Over the next few months work crews from Netech and Feyen Zylstra will be working in NMC buildings for wiring, installation and configuration to meet the January launch date.
