Kudos to all involved in the Maritime Academy Open house last weekend. The event was well organized and well attended by people of all ages. A wonderful way to showcase our Maritime Academy!
Kudos to Human Resources, and specifically Carol Kasper, for presenting an overview of benefits to employees last week. This was a great refresher course! Thank you.
Kudos to all involved in the Retirement and Recognition dinner and specifically Cheri Paul. There is so much planning that goes on behind the scenes and we know that Cheri is the lead on much of the organization of this wonderful event each year. Thanks Cheri!
I have watched Zack Light greet new and returning folks at the Fitness Center in the most welcoming way, be they students, employees or community members. Zack is the face of the Fitness Center and everyone is better off because of it. He really knows his stuff, both professionally and personally. Zack always has a beautiful smile for everyone using the facility, and always makes time for me and folks I’ve brought to the Fitness Center. Carol Evans is also to be complimented for all of the great improvements at the Fitness Center! What a wonderful value for our area. Zach and his staff really care about all of us.
Kudos to John Pahl, Jerry Dobek, Troy Wilson (SGA treasurer and PBC student member), and the Faculty Endowment Fund for sponsoring David Milarch’s Earth Day visit to NMC on April 22, 2013. Milarch, the co-founder of the Archangel Ancient Tree Archive of Copemish, MI, donated 200 trees to be planted at NMC. Last year, NMC students also planted 200 trees from Milarch at NMC.
Kudos to Michelle Autry in Educational Media Technologies! Michelle is always there to help me & answer my questions about Moodle. She also made life easier for me & my students by helping me post videos to Moodle when we missed class due to a snow day. Thanks, Michelle.
Congratulations to all the staff and volunteers at WNMC for organizing a successful on-air fundraiser! The team did a great job keeping momentum up and engaging the community both on-air and online through Facebook, their website, etc. Well done!
Bruce Holland-Moritz recently joined the Fine Arts photo area as our Lab Technician. He has done a superb job of caring for the Photo Lab as well as assisting Sheila, me and the students as issues arise with the equipment and supplies. Bruce is very knowledgeable and talented as well as easy going; a combination that is perfect for managing the intense pace of the Photo Lab.
