International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide.  Next week at NMC we’ll celebrate with:

    • Win prizes!  The NMC International Club is sponsoring an International Treasure Box fundraiser Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 14 and 14 from 10am-3pm in the Health & Science Welcome Center.  Choose a “grab bag” from the treasure box and have a chance to win gift certificates to local shops and restaurants, NMC bookstore, and more!  Prizes start at just $2

 

    • Passports Brown Bag Lunch Series: Hear from Azra, a student from Pakistan, about her home country and culture.  Bring your lunch to Founders Hall Rm. 110 starting at 12:15pm on Thursday, Nov. 15

 

    • International Affairs Forum presents Traverse City’s own Dr. Terrie E. Taylor — a world renowned leader in the fight against malaria in the African nation of Malawi.  She’ll speak Thursday, Nov. 15 starting at 6pm at Milliken Auditorium.  This event is FREE for students and instructors, $10 for community members.  This will be a sold out event, so arrive early!

 

    • Dennos Museum presents Chinese multi-media artist, Miao Xioachun. The artist will be visiting NMC next week and his work is on display at the MacFarlane Gallery of the Dennos.  Miao Xiauchun is one of China’s most influential new media artists.  Don’t miss this opportunity to see amazing world-renown art and meet the artist, Mon.- Fri. 10am-5pm.  FREE for current students with a student ID.
