As we continue to prepare our students for success in a global economy and society the International Affairs Forum (IAF) lecture series offers outstanding opportunities for students, faculty and staff to gain a more global perspective. Consider making attendance at a lecture extra credit or replace a class period with one of the 8 exciting forums that take place throughout the year.
The next IAF lecture takes place Thursday, September 20 from 6pm-7:15pm at Milliken Auditorium and is FREE for NMC students. Dr. Ellen Lust, Associate Professor at Yale University will explore contemporary political opposition in Libya, Syria, Egypt and Yemen and what change this opposition signals in the Middle East.
This forum is ideal for: studies in cross-cultural comparison, political organization, effective human relations, current economic problems and policies, the role of the press and social media, media ethics, cross-cultural communication and political issues, contemporary ethical dilemmas, Eastern religions, comparative politics, international relations and group dynamics.
