Kudos- Praise or respect that you get because of something you have done or achieved. (defined by Merriam-Webster.com)
Kudos to the following people and departments! If you know of co-workers who are going above and beyond, nominate them for kudos here!
Kudos to Steve Egeler: Steve took it upon himself to respond to a need my students and I had per our room set-up. Every week, the night before my morning class, Steve set-up our room differently from the prescribed arrangement. We’ve found that for our class, desks in a large circle work best.
After our class, we put the desks back into the prescribed configuration. Steve’s efforts are thoughtful, save valuable class time and show great anticipation of our learner needs. It might seem like a simple thing, and it’s profound in welcoming students to learn. Steve quietly shows that everyone at NMC contributes to student learning.
Kudos to Charles Fleis: By employing a compassionate based teaching style infused with humor, commonality, fair traditions and organized class style, Mr. Fleis engages his students. I have the utmost respect for him as a teacher, mentor, and fellow human being. I have a difficult time in school, and can be easily discouraged, saddened and give up. He inspires me to attend class, to take in what I am learning and engage these new thought developments in everyday life. I cannot say that I would achieve academic success without the acceptance, patience and overall excellence in teaching that Mr. Fleis demonstrates.
