Dear NMC community,
It’s my pleasure to announce that Katharine Marvin is NMC’s new vice president of college advancement. I’m so pleased to have Katharine take on this role at a critical juncture for NMC, as we stand on the cusp of our next strategic plan, launching a revitalized brand, and celebrating our 75th anniversary.
Katharine’s decade of experience with the Foundation, most recently as director of Development & Alumni Relations, will be vital to us as we execute these plans over the next several years. Already, her fundraising work has been key to the first project in the campus master plan, the aviation hangar, which will open for fall semester. As we ramp up for our next fundraising campaign, her proven results will help drive our success. She was an integral part of the team that exceeded the goal of our first-ever comprehensive campaign, Be What’s Possible, raising $40.3 million between 2016- 2021. She also taught as an adjunct faculty member at NMC from 2017-21.
As you know, Katharine is this year’s recipient of the NMC Staff Excellence Award. Her achievements this past year included securing $1.4 million in gifts for a wide range of programs, including Nursing, Culinary, Construction Technology, Aviation, WNMC and the International Affairs Forum. Notably, her proactive approach to fundraising has cultivated relationships that have blossomed into significant future investments, exemplified by a $500,000 planned gift made this year and designated for aviation scholarships.
In addition to the Foundation, Katharine’s portfolio will also include the Dennos Museum Center, WNMC Radio, and the International Affairs Forum.
I’m thrilled to be working with Katharine even more closely. When you see her around campus, please congratulate her.
Nick
