Led by the unforgettable voice and compelling songwriting of Tony Dekker, Great Lake Swimmers has received both fan and critical acclaim. With a surging rhythm section, razor sharp violin, and flourishing banjo and guitars, Tony Dekker and band mates push the folk/roots sound significantly, creating some of the most dynamic songs of the genre.

Since Great Lake Swimmers debuted over a decade ago they’ve released six albums, taken home a Canadian Indie Award, a Juno Award for roots and traditional album of the year, and a Canadian Folk Music Award. With timeless melodies telling undiscovered stories, Great Lake Swimmers’ deep respect for folk traditions are at the core of their music. At the same time, they are continually transforming it for new listeners everywhere.

Their current tour is in support of the CD A Forest of Arms which was released in April, 2015. As with past albums the Toronto based band recorded in numerous untraditional locations over the span of several months. Great Lake Swimmers consists of Tony Dekker on lead vocals and guitar, long time guitarist and banjo player Erik Arnesen, Miranda Mulholland on violin and backing vocals, Bret Higgins on upright bass and newcomer Joshua Van Tassel.
