NMC ID and Password

You will need your NMC ID and Password throughout your career at NMC.  If you are a new or returning student, visit students.nmc.edu/help to locate assistance or access Password Self-Service.  

Email

NMC Email and other applications are hosted by Google and may be accessed through the myNMC page for students and the Email (Gmail) link. Your student email is <yourNMCID@mail.nmc.edu>.  NMC Student Gmail accounts are active for use during and after attending NMC.

Q:\Drive Access

All students have a Q:\Drive (Home Drive) available to them for storing documents.  This drive is available from on-campus using Files & Folders in Windows and from off-campus using Q & S Drive Access available under Login Links on myNMC.

Educational Media Technologies (Moodle and Media Resources)

Most instructors at NMC will utilize Moodle courses to dispense information, share documents, discuss topics, and post grades.  Courses will show up on a student’s Moodle page at the instructor’s discretion, generally the same day as the beginning of class. EMT also has Kodak pocket cameras available for students to check out for use in classes. Moodle can be accessed by using the Login link on MyNMC.  For support contact the Technology Help Desk at 231-995-3020 or enter a ticket under Technology Help Desk on your Student Login Links page.

Campus Computing Labs

There are campus labs and resources located around campus.  A complete list of campus computing resources and lab hours may be found at: https://www.nmc.edu/departments/help-desk/computer-labs.html.

East Hall Computing and Hawks Nest Computing

Contact the Residence Life Office at 995-1400 for more information regarding computing and connectivity in the dorms.

Mac Computers

Mac computers are available for student use in select locations, however, these Macs are reserved primarily for VCA students.  There is a Mac lab located in JB 204 as well as two Macs available in both JB 214 and the Student Success Center.  

Printing

Printing is available at computing locations around campus.  Coming later this week, students may print directly from phones, tablets and laptops directly to select NMC printers using the Email to Print function.  Watch out for an email and Student News notice with detailed information.

Library Resources

Osterlin Library has 20+ computers available for use and also has laptops available for check-out.  Students may check them out for home use for up to 3 weeks.  Textbooks for pilot courses are offered online through the new Open Educational Resources program; further details are available at nmc.libguides.com/oer/pilotproject.  See what else the library has to offer at https://www.nmc.edu/library/.

Microsoft Office & Mobile Phone Deals

Self Service

NMC Self Service gives students the ability to register for classes, accept financial aid, check grades, request records, opt-in for text message alerts, and a lot more.  Students can access Self Service by going to the myNMC page or clicking here: https://www.nmc.edu/selfservice.

Ellucian Mobile

NMC has a new mobile app! Now you can check your grades, keep track of courses, find important numbers, get directions to campus locations, and keep up with news and events right from your smartphone or tablet.  Visit https://www.nmc.edu/mobile for details on how to download this useful mobile app.

My Academic Plan (MAP)

Visit https://www.nmc.edu/mymap to keep track of what you have done and what you need to do to stay on track for your degree.  MAP also helps you to explore other degree paths.  MAP is available from the MyNMC page.

NMC Bookstore

In addition to school supplies and textbooks, the NMC Bookstore also has laptops and software available for purchase.  Some Financial Aid funds may be used for these purchases.
