Here is an informal account of the Northwestern Michigan College Board of Trustees meeting, Monday, October 27, 2014.

The NMC Board of Trustees gave unanimous support to two big projects at the October meeting and offered praise for the significant work that went into both.
Board members voted to approve the third major for the BS in Maritime Technology degree program. The new Marine Technology offering will be effective for the fall 2015 semester.
Board members also voted to accept the new compensation plan and authorize its implementation.
During the meeting the board also heard an audit presentation from the Rehmann Group which offered an “unmodified opinion.” This clean report, with no audit adjustments, was followed by compliments to the college for pro-active thinking and prudent moves.
The board also approved a number of other action items including entering into an agreement for Blue Cross Blue Shield for the college’s health and dental benefits.
