Phi Theta Kappa is hosting a fundraiser at Flap Jack Shack on Feb. 19th from 5-9pm. Just print out the flier, turn it in with your bill, and the NMC chapter will receive 15% of your tab. All funds will go to support our trip to Annual Convention in San Jose, CA this April.
If you are an employee on NMC’s medical plans, Priority Health acts as our claims administrator. Through enhancements to Priority’s online accounts, you now have the ability to view claim information for minor dependents (up to age 18) with a single login.

Kudos to Lisa Boike! Over the course of two weeks, Lisa worked to provide requested data in the desired format, repeatedly modifying her results to meet the end-user requirements. She was timely, professional and accommodating.
The Student Life Office hosted a Red Flag Party in East Hall on Monday, February 11, 2013 which provided residents with information about healthy and unhealthy relationships. Residents who attended the party stated that it was informative, engaging and fun. Kudos to the Student Life Staff!!!
Kudos to Emily Magner for organizing the One Billion Rising event last night at the Grand Traverse Mall. At least 200 people showed up to dance and show their support for women around the world who have suffered abuse. I think we all wanted it to go on for hours. Student Life is so lucky to have her as an NMC employee.

“The Ticker” featured an article, Tuesday, on NMC’s recent work to get the process of offering a bachelor’s degree in maritime technology started. In December, state lawmakers passed a bill that authorizes Michigan’s 28 community college to offer four-year degrees in these select areas: maritime technology, energy production, culinary and cement technology.

Kudos to Steve Kellman for doing such a good job with making changes to the NMC web site. He has shown over and over that he can solve problems and do it quickly. He comes up with ideas on how to make changes even when the task is hard to explain. I can always count on him to be quick and efficient.
