As my NMC retirement approaches May 31, I want to say “thank-you” to people…
My role as editor of Intercom has been one of my favorite responsibilities. It has given me the opportunity to be in contact with so many people and departments across campus, and have a glimpse of the breadth and depth of NMC.
Warm regards,
Martha Griggs
Once again this summer we have a number of international students, many of whom are flight training in Aviation. The majority are staying in the residence halls. Last year, some of the students used bikes to get around for transport, and this summer we’d like to make more bikes available. If you have a bike in good condition that you could donate or lend to Aviation, they would appreciate it. Contact Steve Ursell at sursell@nmc.edu if you can help out.

Magnum Hospitality will hold its eighth annual Missy Memorial Scholarship fundraiser on June 21 at all four of its restaurant locations.
The scholarship fund for NMC Great Lakes Culinary students was created in 2005 in memory of Missy Kamyszek, a manager at Magnum’s Red Mesa Grill in Boyne City. On her birthday, June 21, the Red Mesa Grills in both Boyne City and Traverse City, Pearl’s in Elk Rapids and Cafe Santé in Boyne City will feature some of Missy’s favorite menu items and dedicate sales of the popular “Missy Margarita” to the scholarship fund. In addition, both Boyne City locations will feature live entertainment and a silent auction will be held at the Boyne Red Mesa Grill.
Since inception, the scholarship has awarded $8,000 to eight second-year culinary students.
For more information contact any Magnum Hospitality restaurant.
