The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College will present Spring Break Stitching: Explore Contemporary Quilts, a workshop for youth, grades 3-8. On Monday, March 31, 10:00am – 3:00pm, children in grades 3-5 will be able to learn about the history of quilting while trying their hand at contemporary techniques. On the following day, Tuesday, April 1, 10:00am – 3:00pm, children in grades 6-8 will do the same. Tickets are $25 in advance, $28 at the door, $22 for Museum Members plus fees. Tickets may be purchased by calling the Museum Box office at 231-995-1553 or on line at www.dennosmuseum.org.

Hero and villain. Soul and body. Imagination and reality. Dichotomy. The theme of the 2014 Spring edition with inspiration taken from graphic novels and comics. By one definition, dichotomy is a division into two opposite groups. We are seeking submissions from all students, faculty, and staff that explore the multiple definitions of dichotomy, analyze the presence of dichotomy in everyday life, and challenge the acceptance of stereotypical dichotomies.
