TRAVERSE CITY \u2013 Cathryn Claerhout has attended every Ferris State University Division I men’s ice hockey game for the last 12 years, except for when she went to see her daughter in her high school homecoming court. It’s not just because she’s a Ferris hockey fan, which she is. She’s also an off-ice official, and scores the games, sitting in a box at ice level.<\/p>\n

She developed her interest in hockey when she was a student at Ferris, and met her husband, Scott, there as well. He ran the men’s league at the Ferris State Ice Arena, and her son, Kevin, grew up playing hockey.<\/p>\n
