The third annual Dirt Fest featuring live music, art activities and environmental workshops, all free and open to the public, is set for 1-7p.m. April 12 in the Welcome Center of the Health & Science Building on NMC’s main campus.<\/p>\n

Sponsored by NMC’s Office of Student Life, Dirt Fest is a family-friendly, fun event that aims\u00a0to teach participants how to make simple changes to better the environment starting at home.\u00a0Workshops include Community Sustained Compost Project with Ty and Carter Schmidt; A Holistic Approach to Regenerative Agriculture with Craig Shaff; and How to Effectively Talk about Climate Change with Krystn Madrine.<\/p>\n

Featured bands are Steppin\u2019 In It (Lansing), The Appleseed Collective (Ann Arbor), and Blake Elliott and The Robinson Affair (Traverse City) with special guest performances by: TC Sings, Little Omena & The Accidentals.\u00a0In addition, Dirt Fest offers arts and crafts suitable for all ages.<\/p>\n

Through art, music and education, Dirt Fest’s vision is to communicate to students and the Grand Traverse community how to get involved with environmental issues. It is a zero-waste event\u00a0thanks to Bay Area Recycling for Charities.\u00a0Read more about Dirt Fest\u00a0\u00bb<\/a><\/p>\n
