{"id":8202,"date":"2014-03-13T11:08:16","date_gmt":"2014-03-13T15:08:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=8202"},"modified":"2014-03-17T10:50:08","modified_gmt":"2014-03-17T14:50:08","slug":"business-students-launch-career-kickstart","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=8202","title":{"rendered":"Business students launch Career Kickstart"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NMC Professional Communications students and TAHRA are launching Career Kickstart, a campaign to provide the Grand Traverse community with free career assistance and professional attire.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Set for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. April 11 in the Welcome Center on NMC&#8217;s main campus,\u00a0Career Kickstart is aimed at\u00a0residents who are seeking to make themselves more employable with free, professional clothing and career assistance, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Resume\u00a0critique by members of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/tahra.shrm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">TAHRA, the Traverse Area Human Resources Association<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Mock Interviews<\/li>\n<li>Career coaching<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The students benefit by gaining communications experience through this service-learning project, and are conducting the clothing collection drive from March 6-27.\u00a0Anyone wishing to donate can drop off clean, gently used, professional clothing and accessories at these NMC locations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Beckett Building \u2013 Main Campus<\/li>\n<li>Osterlin Building \u2013 Main Campus<\/li>\n<li>Parsons-Stulen Building \u2013 Aero Park Campus<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A free clothing pick-up service is also available.
