Whether you are a new or returning student, please review NMC\u2019s COVID-19 safety precautions. Our goals remain the same as they have since the pandemic began in March 2020: Keep our campus community safe while limiting the disruption to learning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Masks:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NMC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/news\/2021\/08\/covid-safety-protocol-update.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">requirement that everyone wear face masks while indoors<\/a> on campus continues. We highly recommend using N-95 or KN-95 respirators.<\/li>\n<li>N-95 or KN-95 respirators are available for the campus community at the following designated locations during regular business hours:\n<ul>\n<li>Main Campus \u2013 Health Services (LB106)<\/li>\n<li>Aero Park Campus \u2013 Parsons-Stulen Welcome Desk (PS104)<\/li>\n<li>Great Lakes Campus \u2013 GLMA front desk or GLCI faculty suite\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>University Center \u2013 Extended Educational Services suite (main entrance)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Surgical masks are provided at the entrances to all buildings and signage also informs students, faculty and staff and visitors.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/WJ4_ezVWSCQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This video<\/a> shows how to properly wear a face mask and other simple COVID precautions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Cases on campus reporting:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/news\/2021\/12\/covid-notification-change.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced in December<\/a>, cases on campus will be reported via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/student-services\/health-services\/corona-virus\/covid-19-dashboard.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">dashboard<\/a>, not campuswide emails. Links to the dashboard are on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">home page<\/a>,<a href=\"https:\/\/employees.nmc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> MyNMC page<\/a> (top left corner) and in every issue of the emailed Student News.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/student-services\/keep-safe\/files\/COVID-19-case-flowchart.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Flow charts<\/a> for what to do if you test positive have been updated with the newest CDC-recommended quarantine criteria (generally, reduced from 10 to 5 days.) The chart is available on the<a href=\"https:\/\/employees.nmc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> MyNMC page<\/a> (top left corner) and on NMC\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nmc.edu\/student-services\/keep-safe\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">COVID hub page<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>NMC will monitor cases on campus and take further action as necessary, such as the temporary shift to online learning.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Vaccination and testing:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Vaccines remain the best protection against COVID-19, especially against severe illness. Vaccines are widely available for ages 5 and up.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NMC will host a free vaccination clinic from 1-4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24 in the Innovation Center. Visit <a href=\"http:\/\/vaccines.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vaccines.gov<\/a> to find other locations.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Every home in the U.S. may order four free at-home tests. Tests are shipped by the U.S. Postal Service and may be<a href=\"https:\/\/www.covidtests.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> ordered online<\/a>.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Testing is available by appointment from NMC Health Services if you are having symptoms or were exposed AT NMC.
