Tickets for K-12 students and teachers are $5 per person until November 8, and then $6 per person until the date of the performance. Call or email Jason Dake at 231-995-1029 or <a href=\"mailto:jdake@nmc.edu\">jdake@nmc.edu<\/a> to reserve tickets.<img decoding=\"async\" title=\"More...\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/explore.nmc.edu\/wp-includes\/js\/tinymce\/plugins\/wordpress\/img\/trans.gif\" \/><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>From the Wharton Center comes a timely production about bullying and self-image. <b><i>The Shape of a Girl <\/i><\/b>by Joan<b> <\/b>MacLeod focuses on Braidie, a teenager who is struggling both at home and in school with making the tough choice between standing by or standing up for what is right, while her best friend bullies another student. This dynamic one-woman play examines the frightening realities of teenage relationships, aggression, and a young woman\u2019s battle with inaction. <b><i>Suggested for middle and high school students.<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p>Originally inspired by a 1997 murder by a Canadian high school student, playwright Joan MacLeod\u2019s beautiful and tightly written play looks at the way little incidents of childhood cruelty can escalate, and the role an individual can have in stopping it.<\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cGripping<\/b>.\u201d <i>The New York Times<\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>\u201cAs a discussion point for teenage audiences, the piece will have a great deal of worth.<\/b>\u201d<br \/>\n<i>The Chicago Tribune<\/i><\/p>\n<p>The Dennos Museum Center\u2019s educational performances for school groups take place in the Milliken Auditorium, and are approximately 50 minutes in length.
