Since then, we have lived through an incredible period of transformation, and I want to take a moment and say just one thing. Thank you.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you \u2014\u00a0for all that you\u2019ve done to work together, to compassionately help each other and our community. Thank you for creatively helping us navigate through a period of uncertainty and isolation, to where we can now see the light of hope growing brighter every day.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This week I visited with our NMC nursing students who are volunteering giving COVID-19 vaccines to members of our community at the Hagerty Center Mass Vaccination Site, here on campus. Watching folks leave the center vaccinated, feeling a new sense of relief, I am more convinced, the world needs our students now more than ever. You, too, have an important role to play. We have an opportunity ahead of us to reimagine how we work, learn, and support each other to make our college and community a better place, as we continue our post-COVID transformation. I thanked our nursing students for their community-mindedness and for being part of making something right. I know each of us has demonstrated that can-do spirit &#8211; the NMC DNA that Les Biederman gifted us &#8211; in different ways over this past year. And, given the grit and determination that I see at NMC day in and day out, I believe that we are all prepared to bring that intention into the future together as the result of what we have been through.<\/p>\n<p>So \u2014\u00a0thank you \u2014\u00a0for being part of making something right this year, whether it was for a family member, a classmate, a neighbor, a co-worker or a friend.
