The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College will present a range of public programs in conjunction with the National Geographic exhibition, Birds of Paradise: Amazing Avian Evolution<\/i>. All programs are free with museum admission ($10 adults, $5 children and museum members).<\/p>\n
The programs are a partnership between the Museum and local bird organizations in support of Birds of Paradise<\/i>. Saving Birds Thru Habitat, located in Leelanau County, will offer a series of \u201cSundays are for the Birds\u201d programs for families and adults at the Dennos Museum Center. Wings of Wonder, located in Empire, will present \u201cA Bird\u2019s-Eye View: An Interactive Raptor Experience\u201d featuring live birds on the 15th<\/sup> of July, August, and September, also at the Dennos.<\/p>\n \u201cThese programs represent the kind of partnership the Dennos Museum Center wants to make happen,\u201d says Jason Dake, Curator of Education. \u201cThis is why the museum exists \u2013 to present engaging and educational programming for the community.\u201d<\/p>\n “Our organization is delighted to partner with the Dennos on an exhibition centered on one of the most beautiful and fascinating avian families in the world.\u00a0 Partnering with other agencies and non-profit organizations helps us spread the word about the importance of bird conservation,” said Kay Charter, Executive Director of Saving Birds Thru Habitat.<\/p>\n “The WOW Ambassador Raptors and I invite our community to join us as we soar to new heights in education,” says Rebecca Lessard, Executive Director of locally operated Wings of Wonder. \u00a0“It’s a real feather in the cap of the Dennos Museum to bring these fantastic programs to our area and we are thrilled to be appearing in such stellar company.”<\/p>\n All attendees are encouraged to call 231-995-1029 to reserve a space for each program.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n SUNDAYS ARE FOR THE BIRDS<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n June 30, 1pm \u2013<\/b> Bird & Bugs Outdoor Explorers<\/b><\/p>\n Join SBTH for an exploration of NMC Main Campus in search of birds and the bugs they eat!
