{"id":46249,"date":"2019-10-03T09:51:16","date_gmt":"2019-10-03T17:51:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=46249"},"modified":"2021-06-17T15:58:24","modified_gmt":"2021-06-17T19:58:24","slug":"tentative-agreement-reached-in-nmc-faculty-contract-negotiations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.nmc.edu\/?p=46249","title":{"rendered":"Tentative agreement reached in NMC faculty contract negotiations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TRAVERSE CITY &#8212; Northwestern Michigan College (NMC) and the Faculty Association affiliates of the Michigan Education Association are pleased to announce they have reached a tentative agreement on all contract issues.<\/p>\n<p>The faculty association members will be advised of the details of the agreement prior to a ratification meeting scheduled for Tuesday, October 8.<\/p>\n<p>If approved by association members, the NMC Board of Trustees would review and vote on the agreement in an upcoming public meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Both parties met with a state mediator Wednesday, October 2 to continue negotiations after the release of a non-binding Fact Finder&#8217;s Report from the Michigan Employment Relations Commission (MERC) on remaining issues in late August.
