The schedule includes:<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span class=\"m_4708437863262186916gmail-aQJ\">8:30-9 a.m.<\/span><span>&#160;<\/span><span>&#8212; Breakfast for veterans in NMC&#8217;s Dennos Museum<\/span><\/li>\n<li>9 a.m. &#8212; Campus community gathers along the sidewalk from the Dennos Museum to the flagpoles west of the Tanis Building for the Walk of Honor<\/li>\n<li><span class=\"m_4708437863262186916gmail-aQJ\">9:05 a.m.<\/span><span>&#160;-<\/span><span>&#8211; Walk of Honor<\/span><\/li>\n<li>9:10 a.m. &#8212; Flag ceremony by VFW, Taps and the three-volley salute, remarks from U.S. Rep. Jack Bergman<\/li>\n<li>10 a.m. &#8212; Cake and coffee, Tanis Atrium<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Serving those who have served the nation is a year-round priority at&#160;<span id=\"m_4708437863262186916gmail-m_-8469496170134907316:ql.4\">NMC. Last month NMC was&#160;<\/span>ranked as the No. 2 community college in the country for&#160;<span class=\"il\">veterans<\/span>&#160;by&#160;<i>Military Times&#160;<\/i>magazine in its 2019 <a href=\"https:\/\/https:\/\/charts.militarytimes.com\/chart\/10\">Best for Vets list<\/a>, rising from third place this year.&#160;Most recently, NMC&#8217;s services to veterans have been augmented by a $10,000 gift to the NMC Foundation to offer unrestricted assistance to student veterans. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>To be awarded by a committee, the&#160; &#8220;Got Your 6&#8221; funds are intended to help student veterans overcome obstacles &#8212; such as medical emergencies or unexpected home expenses &#8212; that might deter their persistence toward a degree.
